RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to recommend that the City Council approve change
order #1 for the Community Development Block Grant ADA Projects in the amount of
$1,800.
BACKGROUND
The work on the ADA Playground Improvements in coming to end. Staff requested the contractor to add
one ADA compliant picnic table pad next to the playground at Bloomfield Park. The request resulted in a
change order on the project. The cost of the change order is $1,800.
The City of Rosemount receives Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding on a regular basis
from the Dakota County Community Development Agency (CDA) for a variety of projects. One area where
the funds can be used is to increase access to public facilities though physical improvements that remove
barriers to those with special needs.
The Parks and Recreation Department has identified nine City parks that need ADA accessible ramps into
the playgrounds, and three ADA accessible concrete pads for our ADA accessible picnic tables.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff is recommending that the City Council approve change order #1 in the amount of $1,800 for the
CDBG ADA Improvements projects.
