HomeMy WebLinkAbout20190618 REST Minutes ENVIRONMENT & SUSTAINABILITY TASK FORCE REGULAR MEETING MINUTES June 18, 2019 CALL TO ORDER Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the meeting of the Environmental & Sustainability Task Force (Task Force) of the City of Rosemount was called to order on June 18, 2019 at 5:34 p.m. in the Conference Room of City Hall, 2875 145th St West, Rosemount. Attendees included Task Force Members: Renee Burman (chair), John Smith (co-chair), Katie Koch- Laveen, Karen Malkowski, Nathan Marks, Vanessa DeMuth, and Victoria Schlautman. Staff present included the following; - Public Works Director Brian Erickson and Senior Engineer Technician Derick Anderson Guests present included the following: - Representative John Huot ADDITIONS OR CORRECTIONS TO AGENDA None APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion by Victoria Schlautman Second by Katie Koch-Laveen Motion to approve the minutes of the May 21, 2019 Environmental & Sustainability Task Force meeting. Ayes: 7 Nays: 0. Motion carried. PRESENTATIONS None OLD BUSINESS 5.a Subcommittee Reports - Energy Action Plan No specific updates from Brian Erickson regarding city portion of Energy Action Plan. Brian will touch base with Dan Schultz to ensure the 360 Communities building expansion is aware of utility incentive programs. Renee Burman updated group about Energy Action Plan Implementation Update meeting with Xcel. Reviewed goals, actions taken so far, implementation resources and remaining priorities. 6 priorities identified during meeting, will update group on these at next meeting. Vanessa suggested moving meeting to a day when Logan Martin is able to attend as he is involved with Energy Action Plan. - Events Discussed Leprechaun Days Booth preparation and topics to cover. Derick to coordinate for table, chairs, table cloth. Victoria/Derick to work on ordering feather flag. Discussed Waffle ENVIRONMENT & SUSTAINABILITY TASK FORCE REGULAR MEETING MINUTES June 18, 2019 Breakfast at Fire Station 1 tabling to promote Energy Action Plan and to assist with organics collection. NEW BUSINESS 6.a Notification if unable to attend meetings Derick reminded group to let him know if unable to attend meeting. 6b. Environmentally preferable procurement Renee Burman exploring options with city to look at purchasing environmentally preferable products such as copy paper with a high recycled content.
