REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
July 16th, 2019
CALL TO ORDER
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the meeting of the Environmental & Sustainability Task
Force (Task Force) of the City of Rosemount was called to order on July 16, 2019 at 5:34 p.m. in the
Conference Room of City Hall, 2875 145th St West, Rosemount.
Attendees included Task Force Members: Renee Burman (chair), John Smith (co-chair), Vanessa
Demuth, Katie Koch-Laveen, Nathan Marks, and Victoria Schlautman.
Staff present included the following;
- Public Works Director Brian Erickson.
- City Administrator Logan Martin
- Storm Water Specialist Jane Byron

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Motion by John Smith, Second by Victoria Schlautman.
Motion to approve the minutes of the June 18, 2019 Environmental & Sustainability Task
Force meeting.
Ayes: 6
Nays: 0. Motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS
Subcommittee Reports
• Energy Action Plan
Logan Martin briefed the Task Force on “The Summer of Outreach.” This includes an outreach
event to the senior community on August 7th, focusing on rebates and energy items. There will
be a presentation to the Rotary on August 21st at 7:30am at Rosemount Senior Living.
Additionally, he noted that The Resource Center has been a great distribution spot for
information pertaining to the Energy Action Plan, including documents that were translated into
Spanish. The next big push will be to multi-family rentals. There will be a film produced showing
what an audit looks like.

Katie Koch-Laveen noted there is a new sign-up sheet available to the Task Force to take on shifts.
We will have a variety of topics including: straw replacement options, pollinators/bees, and the
audit sign up, amongst more.
• Waffle Breakfast – Vanessa
Vanessa Demuth covered the details for the waffle breakfast; where we will be tabling about
compostables and providing the plates and bowls and cutlery.
NEW BUSINESS
Environmentally Friendly Purchasing – Renee
Renee will be reaching out to the MPCA regarding steps we can take to enact
environmentally-friendly purchasing throughout all city offices.
