RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve the attached resolution designating the
polling places for the 2020 primary and general elections.
BACKGROUND
Due to COVID-19, Legislation is allowing for the re-location of polling locations before July 1,
2020 per HF 3429. Because of the pandemic, some polling locations are no longer available. Staff
proposes to re-locate Precinct 6 to the Rosemount Steeple Center. This move keeps the number of
registered voters fairly even as compared to our other locations based on the number of registered
voters within each precinct.
Upcoming 2020 elections include; Minnesota State Primary on August 11th and State General/City
Election on November 3rd.
The new polling places for 2020;
Precinct 1: Rosemount Community Center, 13885 South Robert Trail
Precinct 2: St. John’s Lutheran Church, 14385 Blaine Avenue East
Precinct 3: First Baptist Church, 14400 Diamond Path West
Precinct 4 & 6: Rosemount Steeple Center, 14375 South Robert Trail
Precinct 5: Our Saviors Church, 14980 Diamond Path
Precinct 7: Hosanna Church, 14401 Biscayne Avenue West
These updates will be shared on our City and Minnesota Secretary of State Website, and mailers will
be sent out on behalf of the county detailing the update in polling locations. In addition, signage will
be posted at The Well directing Precinct 6 voters to the Rosemount Steeple Center.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the Council approve the attached Resolution designating the polling locations for
the 2020 primary and general elections.

A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE DESIGNATION OF
POLLING PLACES FOR 2020 PRIMARY AND
GENERAL ELECTIONS
WHEREAS, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Rosemount needs to re-locate polling
locations for the 2020 Primary and General Elections; and
WHEREAS, H.F. 3429 passed on May 12, 2020 provides special procedures for the safe and secure
conduct of the 2020 Primary and General Elections; and
WHEREAS, H.F. 3429 passed and allows designation of polling locations prior to July 1, 2020; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Rosemount hereby designates the
following precinct locations for the 2020 Primary and General Elections;
Precinct 1: Rosemount Community Center, 13885 South Robert Trail
Precinct 2: St. John’s Lutheran Church, 14385 Blaine Avenue East
Precinct 3: First Baptist Church, 14400 Diamond Path West
Precinct 4 & 6: Rosemount Steeple Center, 14375 South Robert Trail
Precinct 5: Our Saviors Church, 14980 Diamond Path
Precinct 7: Hosanna Church, 14401 Biscayne Avenue West
ADOPTED this 16th day of June, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount.
