Motion to Approve a Temporary On-Sale Liquor License Issued to Rosemount American
Legion Post 65 to Hold an event on August 1, 2020 at 14590 Burma Ave, Subject to
Conditions Within the Staff Report.
BACKGROUND
The Rosemount American Legion Post 65 (American Legion) has submitted a request for a Temporary
On-Sale Liquor License at 14590 Burma Avenue. The purpose of the request is to hold a bean bag event
in their parking lot on August 1, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The event will be capped at 60 teams.
Staff recommends approval of the temporary license as requested by the American Legion. The approvals
are subject to the following conditions:
1. The parking lot area be fenced in a manner consistent with prior years and approved by the
Rosemount Chief of Police.
2. Access points to the fenced area are staffed by the American Legion to control entry/exit.
Additional security staff will be hired by the American Legion and will roam and be stationed
to monitor any issues with fencing/unlawful entry.
3. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held in the banquet room (normal capacity
250 persons) in which Minnesota Department of Health COVID-19 occupancy guidelines will
be enforced; no more than 25% capacity up to 250 persons. The main bar area will also be
available and patio with extension.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of a Temporary Liquor License to the Rosemount American Legion Post 65
for an event on August 1, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
