e. Discuss Reaction from Process and Summarize
After discussing progress and tactics inside of each of the above general goal categories, the Council
provided the following overall takeaways for the upcoming two-year term within the confines of the
current Goals.
• Communications: Continued focus on increased communication efforts, in-light of
the forthcoming vacancy in this position. Residents crave additional information
and engagement with the City, and the progress made on this front must continue.
• Retail & Commercial Site Visioning: Engage a consulting firm to assist staff &
Council / Commission on illustrating the vision for what could occur at 5 key retail
/ commercial service areas. This will be utilized as a marketing tool to potential
developers and tenants, along with a communications tool to resident to ensure
them that we’re focused on these needs and to create excitement about what’s to
come.
• Community Events: Great strides have been made in recent years on establishing
new community events to bring residents together and retain the small-town feel.
Council encouraged staff to continue focusing on these efforts, including bolstering
events such as the Food Truck Fest, Movies in the Park, Farmers Market, etc.
