Activity Boxes - The Parks and Recreation Department recently offered themed Activity Boxes for
purchase online. Each box included interactive and hands on activities, projects and fun surprises to keep
kids busy and engaged at home. We ended up having enough supplies to make-up 130 boxes which were
delivered to resident's homes. The boxes were very well received from the community and we will
consider offering this option again
Senior Picnic
On Wednesday, September 16th we hosted a picnic luncheon at Camfield Park for 50 senior
members of the community. Under normal circumstances, our seniors hold a monthly catered
luncheon at the Steeple Center, and they have not been able to do so since March. Knowing that
this was one of the events they have missed the most, we planned this outdoor luncheon following
all MDH guidelines with masks, physical distancing and other safety procedures. Attendees
received an individually boxed lunch from Morning Glory's and enjoyed some classic country music from
local musician Les Blake. This was the first time in six months that many of the attendees had seen each
other, and for some this was the first social outing in that amount of time. It was very well received, and
we have another one planned in October.
