BACKGROUND
Perkins and Will held a Commercial Site Visioning Joint Session on October 13, 2020. The consultant put
together a presentation and group activities based on their initial City Council interviews from September.
Members of the City Council, Port Authority, and Planning Commission were broken out into groups for a
design Charrette. This design exercise was facilitated by Perkins and Will staff who guided the discussion
around high-level design principles for the four selected sites. Topics discussed included land use, access,
and site character.
Perkins and Will staff will take the information gleaned from the Charrette activity and use it to develop site
design and concept plans. Staff is planning on devoting the December 15, 2020, Port Authority meeting to
reviewing these concept plans and providing feedback. For now, the Port Authority should plan on meeting
at 5pm so there is ample time for discussion. When it gets closer to the meeting date, we can adjust the start
time accordingly. The Planning Commission will be notified of the meeting if they would like to continue to
participate in the process. This would be the second of three community design forums.
RECOMMENDATION
Discuss any issues from the October 13, 2020, Joint Session and provide feedback to Perkins and Will via
staff.
