RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve the 2021 liquor license renewal and
amendment for The Clover located at 14845 South Robert Trail
BACKGROUND
Staff recommends approval to renew and amend the 2021 liquor license as presented.
Amendment & Renewal:
The Clover
On-Sale Liquor License (Class B), Special Sunday and Public
Premise
The Clover (formerly Rudy’s Redeye Grill) located at 14845 South Robert Trail has applied for a liquor
license amendment to change the name from Rudy’s Redeye Grill to The Clover and add two additional
partners. The additional partners have restaurants in Edina and St. Paul called Pajarito. Staff recommends
approval of the amendment and renewal subject to approval of the final inspection of their building
permit.
The Police Department conducted a criminal background of any new owners or managers and determined
that there are no issues that would disqualify the applicants from obtaining a liquor license. Applicants are
required to and have submitted proof of insurance, renewal fees and the necessary paperwork for the
renewal.
The Clover has been notified that they will be receiving a 3-month reimbursement for their 2021 license
due to the latest Governor’s COVID-19 restrictions and winter approaching which is less of an
opportunity for customers to utilize outdoor patios. The Clover opening date is still pending.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of the 2021 liquor license renewal and amendment for The Clover located at
14845 South Robert Trail.
