RECOMMENDED ACTION:
1. Motion to receive gift card donation in the amount of $225.00 from Lori Kahler of
Edina Realty.
2. Motion to receive gift card donation in the amount of $2,200.00 from Las Tortillas.
BACKGROUND
Staff requests that the Council acknowledge receipt of two separate donations that have recently been
received by the Fire Department. The first is a donation of forty-five $5.00 gift certificates to various
restaurants in Rosemount, totaling $225.00 in value.. The Fire Department received the donation from
Lori Kahler of Edina Realty. The gift certificates are valid for various restaurants in the City of
Rosemount and were intended for distribution to each Firefighter to thank them for their service.
Regarding the second donation, the Fire Department was contacted by Las Tortillas owners Ryan and Jen
McGunnigle and learned that they had conducted a fundraiser and raised enough funds to give every
firefighter a $50.00 gift certificate. This was their way of saying thanks to the firefighters for their ser vice
to the community during the past year.
The gift cards will be presented to the Rosemount Firefighters upon final approval of the Council.
A sincere thanks is owed to both Lori Kahler of Edina Realty and Ryan & Jen McGunnigle of La s Tortillas
(along with all residents who contributed to their fundraiser) for these kind gifts.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the Council approve motions receiving the gift card donations and authorizing their
distribution to the Firefighters.
