ATTACHMENTS: Draft Tech Task Force Scope APPROVED BY: LJM RECOMMENDED ACTION: Receive update on plan for Tech Task Force and provide feedback. BACKGROUND City Staff along with Councilmember Weisensel interviewed 10 residents interested in serving on the recently formed Technology Task Force (TTF). The group of applicants was very skilled in a variety of areas, and after deliberations 7 people have been selected for the TTF. The regular agenda for February 2 includes the appointment of these individuals to the TTF. As staff prepares for the first meeting with the group in February, we would appreciate an opportunity to discuss the general plan with the Council to ensure consistency. The previously discussed TTF Scope is attached, and the interview panel discussed the need to give some parameters / guidance to the group as it starts. In general, some preliminary ideas for the TTF include: • General city operations and departmental overviews • Idea generation in 3 general categories (very broad examples shown) o Internal City Operations  Asset management  Finance / HR software  Laserfiche o External City Operations  Smart City technology (street lights, wi-fi, traffic cameras, etc.) o Citizen Facing Opportunities  City mobile apps (bill pay, complaint submittal, etc.)  Open data and transparency opportunities As a reminder, GIS Coordinator Aaron Menza will be leading the TTF, with CD Director Lindquist and City Administrator Martin assisting as needed.
