HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 04-23-18PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION April 23, 2018 Regular Meeting Members Present: Maureen Bartz, Barb Farrell, Bryan Feldhaus, Dave Speich, Lincoln Tilson, Craig Nelson and Scott McDonald Members Absent: Mike Eliason, Jim Young Staff Present: Dan Schultz, Director of Parks and Recreation Michelle Rambo, Recording Secretary Others Present: None CALL TO ORDER: Bartz called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. 2. ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA: None APPROVAL OF THE March 19, 2018 SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES: MOTION by Farrell to approve the minutes of the March 19, 2018 meeting. SECOND by Nelson. Ayes: 7 Nays: 0 Motion passed. 4. AUDIENCE INPUT: None 5. DISCUSSION (Response to Audience Input): None 6. OLD BUSINESS: None 7. NEW BUSINESS: a. Project Updates — Director Schultz updated the Committee on several 2018 projects /initiatives. b. Director's Report - The park improvement fund balance as of Mach 31, 2018 was $550,529.98. No grants or donations were received. Interest earned in the amount of $164.76 and expenditures for Greystone Park Development and UMore Dugouts* in the amount of $11,424.26. *Has been reimbursed from DCTC. Annual Egg Hunt brought in 410 pounds of food donations for the Family Resource Center, and Rosemount Youth Hockey Booster's Skate with a Leprechaun event also brought in a $200 donation for the Family Resource Center. Garden plot lottery was conducted. Few plots remain. Rosemount Parks and Recreation participated in the annual Red Pine Elementary School Health and Fitness Fair on April 21, 2018. Information was shared on all of our exciting summer camps and activities. 8. ADJOURNMENT - MOTION by Bartz to adjourn the meeting. SECOND by Speich. Ayes: 7 Nays: 0 Motion passed.
