Mayor Droste called the meeting to order with Councilmember Weisensel, Freske, Block and Essler. Staff present included, City Administrator Martin, Chief of Police Dahlstrom, Assistant City Administrator Foster, Community Development Director Lindquist, Public Works Director/City Engineer Erickson, Parks & Recreation Director Schultz and Finance Director May. Guests present included, facilitator Dr. Richard Fursman and Megan Jacobson from Hue Life Inc. 2.a. Strategic Planning & Goals Session City Council and staff discussed the current Strategic Plan and the role it plays in working to establish a new 5-year guiding document. Dr. Fursman guided the Council and staff through a review of the work from the previous session. The group then worked in pairs to define successes and specific measurable accomplishments in the first year for the goals/tasks listed. After a short break, the group discussed the specific tasks needed to be accomplished for each goal area. The staff “owner” of each task was assigned, and a timetable for deliverables was established. Ultimately, the timetables were laid out on a large calendar to develop a general work plan for the months and years to come. As a reminder, general topic areas developed include: • Growing Rosemount • Connecting & Engaging the Community • Enhancing Quality of Life • Developing a High Performing Organization Dr Fursman will be pulling the vision, goals, and calendar into a draft document which will then be reviewed and finalized with City staff. That document will be brought back to Council at a future meeting for final adoption. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the City Council and upon a motion by Droste, second by Block, the meeting was unanimously adjourned at 7:43pm Respectfully Submitted, Logan Martin City Administrator
