ATTACHMENTS: Leprechaun Days Mid-summer Faire APPROVED BY: BLE Cover Letter and Application Form RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve Participation at the 2021 Leprechaun Days DISCUSSION: Rosemount’s annual summer festival, Leprechaun Days, is scheduled for July 16-25, 2021. The Commission participated in previous years when they were a task force at the Fire Fighters Relief Association Pancake Breakfast and Mid-summer Faire. The Mid-summer Faire is scheduled for July 23 (5:00PM – 11:00PM) and July 24 (1:00PM – 11:00PM). Should the Commission decide to participate in 2021, volunteers would be needed to assist with recycling activities at the Pancake Breakfast and staffing a booth at the Mid-summer Faire. Commissioners would help decide on outreach materials/activities provided at the booth. Some discussion was held on this item at the February Commission Meeting. SUMMARY: Discuss 2021 Leprechaun Days activities. Consider approving participation. Assign a captain(s) to oversee organization of outreach activities associated with this event. Leprechaun Days is an annual event organized by volunteers in cooperation with the City of Rosemount. Vendors are required to supply their own tent, chairs / trailer, and any materials required. We are not responsible for any damage of theft to your personal property. STATE ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR AND DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH INSPECTOR will be available between 1:00pm and 3:00pm. Vendors that use electricity must have an approved quick-disconnect electrical panel attached to their trailer or a portable panel that will be inspected by the State Electrical Inspector. No household appliances are NOT allowed. Electrical plug-ins and extension cords must be UL approved and meet requirements of the State Electrical Inspector. Please contact Pat McMullen at 612-850-6550 (STATE ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR) if you have any questions about your inspection. All food Vendors must have a special events license from the State of Minnesota Department of Health. Please call 651-208-4188 to obtain a license 45 days prior to the Mid-Summer Faire. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR BOOTH SPACE UNTIL AFTER YOU HAVE BEEN INSPECTED. All Leprechaun Days events and activities are subject to whatever COVID regulation and/or Executive Orders are in force at the time of the event. All fees will be held until late May. If we must cancel this year’s celebration, we will return your check. If your space needs an extra trash barrel, please let us know. Things may look different this year. We are following State Mandates in accordance to the Covid-19 Pandemic and may have to make changes. One change is for our food vendors. We are allowing approved portable generators this year. If you plan on using one, I will need to know for spacing purposes. All generators must be approved by the City of Rosemount Fire Marshall. No modifications are allowed to be done to the generators. **Please note: All Leprechaun Days events and activities are subject to whatever COVID regulation and/or Executive Orders are in force at the time of the event.
