ATTACHMENTS: Technology Task Force Final Project List; Project Prioritization – Project Guidelines Memo APPROVED BY: LJM RECOMMENDED ACTION: Prioritize the Task Force Project List and discuss the next steps of project implementations BACKGROUND At its March 10, 2021 meeting, the task force developed a list of proposed projects to be reviewed and considered for implementation in the future. City staff combined all the project ideas that were gathered during the Task Force’s project brainstorming session; broke them out into three categories – Internal Work Flows, Public Facing, and Community Projects; and assigned a broad deadline based on City resources and project scope. Staff have provided general guidelines to assist in the process of determining the feasibility and prioritization of projects. RECOMMENDATION Staff is recommending that the Task Force prioritizes projects based on City resources and project effectiveness and select the first projects the Task Force will address. ATTACHMENTS: APPROVED BY: LJM RECOMMENDED ACTION: Informational Item Only SUMMARY In order to assist the Task Force with determining the feasibility of and prioritizing projects, below please find some general guidelines that were included in the original proposal for the Task Force. These criteria should be considered while assessing projects. Generally speaking, projects should have the following goals/outcomes: 1. Solutions are purpose based a. Allows for greater customer service b. Improves communication in support of connectivity and situational awareness c. Enhances City business operations and service flexibility 2. Solutions provide value and savings a. Provides durable/long life/upgradable solutions b. Balances one off vs enterprise-wide solutions, modular vs stand alone, cloud vs onsite c. Improves efficiency/productivity; repurposes resources in support of resident service 3. Solutions increase safety, security, and transparency. a. City business/enterprise continuation during emergencies and pandemics b. Protects residents, staff, and Council information c. Enhances visibility of appropriate data and information
