Park Improvement Fund Balance as of April 30, 2021: $2,985,139.89 Inflows to the Park Improvement Fund last month were as follows: Dedication fees — $302,950.00 Grants/Other - $0 Interest - $54.68 Donations - $0 Expenditures — $12,165.73 (skate park site improvements planning and greenway plans) Arbor Day - Arbor Day was celebrated on Saturday, May 1". We had a total of 180 trees to give away, 132 residents were able to get at least one tree, and for those who stayed, they were able to get multiple trees. There were many new residents who came along with our regulars. All expressed gratitude that the City continues to offer this event. Garden Plots - All of the garden plots were recently roto-tilled and staked. Gardeners have been notified that they can begin working in their plots. UMore Ballfields - A preconstruction meeting for the UMore Ballfields Phase 2 Project was held on April 28. Work on the construction of two new ballfields at the UMore site has begun. It is expected that the work will be completed late this summer and the athletic turf seeding should take place in late summer or early spring. New Playground - The playground equipment for the Flint Hills Athletic Complex has been delivered and the installation will be complete by May 21. Goats in Carroll's Woods - A herd of goats is currently working to remove buckthorn from Carroll's Woods. A fenced enclosure has been installed on the east end of the pond, near the RHS baseball field, and the goats within that fenced area are working away.
