DISCUSSION
No Mow May is a campaign to encourage residents to pause mowing during the month of May in order to
aid in pollinator conservation. The month of May can be a critical time for pollinators that need to find
food after waking up from hibernation. Not only does the campaign seek to educate residents and change
behavior, but also often requires updates to ordinances involving mowing requirements for the month of
May. Some City Council Members were approached by an outside group to consider the matter. The City
is requesting that the ESC research the issue and report back later this year with recommendations.
