ISSUE
The City of Rosemount 2021 CIP (Capital Improvement Plan) Budget has funding identified for hiring a
designer to help the City with master planning for Central Park and the current Public Works facility. In
the future, a new public works facility will be built in a new location and we need to discuss what the next
use of the site will be. Another project that staff will be looking to add to the 2022 CIP Budget is the
refurbishing of Erickson Park. The park is over 40 years old and has some of the original infrastructure
still in place.
Included in the packet is a recent master plan for a portion of the Central Park. The plan shows the splash
pad, new playground and changes to the skating area. Also included in the packet is an aerial photo of the
public works campus and Erickson Park.
Staff will lead a discussion about the process in which we will most likely follow as we move forward with
master planning.
