Spring Clean Up - Our Spring Clean -Up was held on Saturday, May 22, at Dakota County Technical
College. These clean-up events are always popular, but this spring's was by far the most successful clean-
up we have held. According to the slips we wrote, we serviced 512 vehicles on Saturday morning. This is
67 more vehicles than at our next -well attended event, back in the spring of 2018 when we serviced 445
vehicles, and 86 vehicles more than at last year's spring clean-up. This number does not include those cars
coming to the event just for paper shredding and we are waiting to get that number from the Michelle
Hoagland Group, our co-sponsor of the paper shredding event.
Flint Hills Playground - Installation of the playground at the Flint Hills Athletic Complex has been
completed. The playground was supplied and installed by St. Croix Recreation. Area residents have
already found the playground and city staff have talked with several families who are very glad to have this
play opportunity for their children.
Tree Planting - The Rosemount Youth Commission held their annual spring Legacy Tree planting
program on Wednesday afternoon, May 26. With the help of Public Works staff picking up the trees and
preparing the site, five Spring Snow crabapples were planted near the basketball court at Bloomfield
Park. These trees were spaced so that in a few years when they are larger, they will be able to support
hammocks. Bloomfield Park is the sixth park site in which the Youth Commission has planted trees since
the program began in 2015.
