RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve Resolution Approving an Application to
Conduct Off-Site Gambling for Irish Football Boosters.
BACKGROUND
Irish Football Boosters is requesting consideration of an Application to Conduct Off-Site Gambling (MN
Gambling Control Board - Form LG230). Irish Football Boosters is in the process of submitting their
application with the State of Minnesota, which requires approval from the City Council to proceed. The
activity will be a fundraiser for Irish Football Boosters.
The event will take place on Saturday, July 24th from 1:30 pm – 3:30 p.m. in Central Park near the Celt’s
tent. The bingo caller will be Chuck Brooks, retired Rosemount High School teacher and newspaper
columnist.
The event will be open to adults only this year and adults will pay $1-$2 per card per game. Cash prizes will
be awarded to adults.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of the above-stated motion.

A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN APPLICATION TO CONDUCT OFF-SITE
GAMBLING FOR IRISH FOOTBALL BOOSTERS
WHEREAS, the Irish Football Boosters currently hold a Charitable Gambling Premise
Permit at Celt’s, 14506 South Robert Trail, The Clover, 14845 S Robert Trail and Tops
Tavern, 14533 Dodd Blvd in Rosemount; and
WHEREAS, the Irish Football Boosters are requesting permission to conduct off-site
gambling, in the form of Bingo, on Saturday, July 24th, at Central Park, in conjunction with
Leprechaun Days; and
WHEREAS, state gambling rules allow for persons under the age of 18, if accompanied by a
parent or guardian, to play bingo in conjunction with a community festival; and
WHEREAS, the Irish Football Boosters has obtained permission from the Leprechaun Days
Committee to hold the event.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Rosemount,
hereby approves the Application to Conduct Off-Site Gambling (Form LG230) submitted by
the Irish Football Boosters to conduct charitable gambling at Central Park during Leprechaun
Days.
ADOPTED this 6th day of July, 2021, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount.
