DISCUSSION
The ESC Outreach & Education for 2021 were approved at the December Commission Meeting. Some
outreach items have been assigned to specific commissioners for completion, such as some of the blog
posts. The intent of this item is to review the calendar for updates and share ideas. Highlights are below:
1. The ESC will be staffing a booth at Leprechaun Days on July 23 and July 24. – Taylor & Tina
captaining event
a. Topic areas covered at the booth
i. Organics composting drop sites
ii. Environmental rebate and grant opportunities available to residents
iii. Adopt-a-Drain
iv. Native plants and pollinators
v. Recycling guidance
vi. Carbon footprint reduction
b. Drop materials off for booth displays by noon on Friday July 23 at City Hall
2. July blog post – what you can/not burn and proper waste disposal
3. August blog post – keeping bees – benefits, regulations, safety, and native plants
4. August blog post – cleaning your cupboards and donating food from the garden
5. Holidays of note
a. August 3 - Night to Unite
6. Pick up your new shirts
