Contracting for 2019 Street Improvement Project, Phase II, City Project 2019-01 and
Accepting the Improvements for Perpetual Maintenance
BACKGROUND
On April 21, 2020, the City Council approved a contract with McNamara Contracting for the 2019 Street
Improvement Project, Phase II, City Project 2019-01. The scope of work was a pavement rehabilitation
along with some related minor utility repairs on:
• Dodd Boulevard between Chippendale Avenue and Shannon Parkway
• Chippendale Avenue between 145th Street and 160th Street
• 151st Street between Chippendale Avenue and Shannon Parkway
• Cimarron Avenue between 150th Street and 151st Street
• Claret Avenue between 150th Street and 151st Street
• Crestone Avenue between 150th Street and 151st Street
• Connemara Trail adjacent to the railroad overpass
• Fire Station #2 Parking Lot
• Park and Ride lot on MN Trunk Highway 3
At this point the project is completed and ready for final acceptance by the City.
This project was awarded to McNamara Contracting in the amount of $2,505,731.33. There was an additive
alternate; however, that scope of work was not part of the awarded contract. Through the course of
construction there were no change orders to the project, and the final cost is $2,366,370.79 which is
$139,360.54 or 6% below the awarded amount.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached resolution authorizing final payment and
accepting the improvements for perpetual maintenance for the 2019 Street Improvement Project, Phase II,
City Project 2019-01.

A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT
FOR 2019 STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, PHASE II
CITY PROJECT 2019-01
WHEREAS, the contractor has completed the required construction as per the scope of the contract,
and;
WHEREAS, the City received a concurrence from the engineer of record that the work has been
completed in accordance with the approved plans and specifications and finds the improvements
acceptable;
WHEREAS, the contractor has completing all necessary administrative requirements to close out the
contract.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ROSEMOUNT, MINNESOTA:
1. The improvements completed under said agreement are hereby accepted for perpetual
maintenance and ownership.
2. Final payment to the contractor is authorized.
ADOPTED this 2nd day of August, 2021.

McNamara Contracting has completed the work for the 2019 Street Improvements Project Phase 2 for
the Chippendale area, including completion of all remaining punchlist items. The final quantities for this
project have been reconciled with McNamara Contracting.
It is now appropriate to accept the project and begin the two-year warranty period. TKDA recommends
accepting the project and final payment to McNamara Contracting for the 2019 Street Improvement
Project Phase 2.
