BACKGROUND
In the Fall of 2019, the Police Department opened a hiring process to fill three vacancies. Following an
extensive testing process that included several interviews, a scenario-based exercise, a written evaluation,
and a ride-along, Officer Andrew Graff was selected to fill the one of three vacancies and started with the
Department in January of 2020.
Andy is from Dassel, Minnesota and attended Dassel-Cokato High School. He spent ten years active duty
and reserve with the US Navy as an Information Systems Technician First Class. He completed his
Criminal Justice Degree with St. Cloud State University and was a Reserve Police Officer with the Big Lake
Police Department prior to becoming a licensed officer with Rosemount.
Andy enjoys his family time with his wife and two small children. When not with them he can be found
hunting or fishing. To go along with his passion for nature, he donates time volunteering for Hometown
Hero Outdoors 501(c)3 whose mission is to promote the outdoors to military veterans, active duty military
members and Law Enforcement officers.
When considering Rosemount as a department to work for and community to serve, Andy likes the
growing suburb with the small-town feel. It also doesn’t hurt that he has family living here.
During his first year as a Rosemount Police Officer, Andy has already experienced lots of growth and is
excited for the department’s future. He especially enjoys the interactions with the public and how positive
they have been. A community that supports its officers is important to him and he believes helps the
officers maintain a positive attitude as well.
We are very proud and excited to welcome Officer Andrew Graff to our Rosemount Police Department
family.
