Station, City Project 2019-12, Public Improvements for Perpetual Maintenance.
BACKGROUND
Public improvements installed as part of the Dunmore Stormwater Lift Station, City Project 2019-12,
included a stormwater lift station and associated piping pumps and controls during the 2019 construction
season. Some additional work to complete minor corrective items was required in 2020 and early 2021.
This project was awarded August 5, 2019 in the amount of $388,500.00 to Minger Construction of Jordan,
Minnesota. Throughout the course of construction change orders for additional force main connections,
additional grading and erosion control were awarded in the amount of $5,861.57, bringing the total
contract amount to $394,361.57. The engineer’s estimate was $492,000.00. As a result, the final cost of
this project was 19.8% below the estimate. Funding for this work is split evenly between the Stormwater
Utility and the Stormwater Core funds. Final payment will be $18,818.19.
The contractor has submitted documentation required for public acceptance, including lien waivers, as-
builts, maintenance bond and the final pay voucher. WSB, the City’s designer/inspector for the project,
submitted a letter May 25, 2021 that recommends approval and acceptance of the public improvements.
RECOMMENDATION
Upon City acceptance of the work, the public improvements constructed for the Dunmore Stormwater
Lift Station, City Project 2019-12, shall become City property per the subdivision agreement. Staff
recommends that City Council approve the resolution accepting the improvements for perpetual
maintenance.
