understory plants in Carroll’s Woods. The goal was to plant several thousand plugs and spread new seed
mixes around the woods to help build up the understory of the forest.
Food Trucks - The Fall Food Truck Fest took place on Saturday, September 18th the from 4pm – 9pm in
Central Park. A great crowd of people came out for some great food, music and beer.
UMore Ballfield Construction - Work on the new ballfields at UMore park is progressing nicely. In
recent weeks, the chain link fabric for the outfield fences and backstops was hung, and the athletic turf
seeding was done. Electricians are currently working on installing the athletic field lighting and
scoreboards. A new parking lot has been constructed and all the curb and sidewalk around it have been
poured. The parking lot has its base course down. The parking lot’s wear course will be applied shortly,
once all the heavy equipment needed for installing the light posts between the fields is done working in
that area, at which time the rest of the new asphalt trails will also be installed.
Community Tennis Night - The Rosemount Fall Community Tennis Night was held on Tuesday,
August 24 and was a great success! Tennis enthusiasts joined Rosemount Parks and Recreation and the
Rosemount High School Girls Tennis Team for a fun evening of introductory tennis activities led by the
Girls’ Varsity Tennis Team. Following the tennis activities, families were invited to stay for free hot dogs
and to watch the fast-paced match against South St. Paul. This collaboration is also offered to the
community in the Spring when the Boys Tennis Team hosts a community night.
