Park Improvement Fund Balance as of August 31, 2021: $ 3,141,822.69 Inflows to the Park Improvement Fund last month were as follows: Dedication fees – $3,400 Grants/Other - $0 Interest - $116.88 Donations - $0 Expenditures – $18,222.22 (Fiber install to Flint Hills Fields and Field Netting at Flint Hills Fields) Volunteer Help for Carroll’s Woods - Great River Greening coordinated the Xcel Energy Day of Service volunteer event on Saturday, September 11th. Over 60 volunteers from the company planted understory plants in Carroll’s Woods. The goal was to plant several thousand plugs and spread new seed mixes around the woods to help build up the understory of the forest. Food Trucks - The Fall Food Truck Fest took place on Saturday, September 18th the from 4pm – 9pm in Central Park. A great crowd of people came out for some great food, music and beer. UMore Ballfield Construction - Work on the new ballfields at UMore park is progressing nicely. In recent weeks, the chain link fabric for the outfield fences and backstops was hung, and the athletic turf seeding was done. Electricians are currently working on installing the athletic field lighting and scoreboards. A new parking lot has been constructed and all the curb and sidewalk around it have been poured. The parking lot has its base course down. The parking lot’s wear course will be applied shortly, once all the heavy equipment needed for installing the light posts between the fields is done working in that area, at which time the rest of the new asphalt trails will also be installed. Community Tennis Night - The Rosemount Fall Community Tennis Night was held on Tuesday, August 24 and was a great success! Tennis enthusiasts joined Rosemount Parks and Recreation and the Rosemount High School Girls Tennis Team for a fun evening of introductory tennis activities led by the Girls’ Varsity Tennis Team. Following the tennis activities, families were invited to stay for free hot dogs and to watch the fast-paced match against South St. Paul. This collaboration is also offered to the community in the Spring when the Boys Tennis Team hosts a community night.
