DISCUSSION
The ESC Outreach & Education for 2021 were approved at the December Commission Meeting. Some
outreach items have been assigned to specific commissioners for completion, such as some of the blog
posts. The intent of this item is to review the calendar for updates and share ideas. Highlights are below:
1. August blog post – cleaning your cupboards and donating food from the garden
a. Submitted – publication on hold
2. October blog post – Leaves, composting & winterizing your yard – posted
3. October blog post – Halloween related recycling: candy wrappers, plastic films, etc.
4. October blog post – Radon Testing Your Home as You Close Things Up for Winter
5. November blog post – Road or softener salt reduction
6. November blog post – Energy topic related to the season
7. Holidays/events of note
a. October 2 – Fall Cleanup & Shred Event
b. November 6 & 7 – Pumpkin Recycling
c. November 11 – Veterans’ Day
d. November 25 – Thanksgiving
8. City Council “Out & About” events
a. October TBD – Paint the Plow
b. November 20 – Steeple Center Tree Lighting
9. Updates to the website – 5G information added to the “How You Can Help” page
