Who Done It Hike - We had great weather and a fantastic turnout for the annual SORR (South of the River Recreators) Who Done It Hike held at Ritter Farm Park in Lakeville this past Saturday, September 11th. 121 families played Sherlock Holmes by collecting clues, gathering information and solving mysteries, while walking the trails at Ritter Farm Park. When the end is near and you think you have it solved, you have a chance to guess “Who Done It.” This event is perfect for families of all ages, including 4-legged dog members. This event is held every year in the fall. City Clean Up - Our Annual Fall Clean-Up was held at the Rosemount Public Works Facility on Saturday, October 2nd, and a Paper Shredding event was held at the same time in the Central Park parking lot. We serviced 311 vehicles at the Clean-Up, making it our second most well attended fall Clean-Up ever. Only last year’s Fall Clean-Up, after a summer with most people working from home and having all summer to clean out their garages and basements, was more well attended. Dick’s Sanitation and Certified Recycling were the City’s partners in the Clean-Up event and Michelle Hoagland and Keller Williams Preferred Realty and Shred Right were our partners in the Paper Shredding event. Story Walk - The Robert Trail Library and Rosemount Parks and Recreation are once again teaming up to offer a StoryWalk though Central Park during MEA Break. Take a self-guided walk in the park on Thursday, October 21- Sunday, October 24 between 9am-9pm while reading pages from the children's book Call Me Tree by Maya Christina Gonzalez. A StoryWalk is an innovative and delightful way for children and adults to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Laminated pages from a children's book will be installed along the path around the pond at Central Park. As you stroll down the trail, you're directed to the next page in the story. Staff Training - Facilities staff at both the Rosemount Community Center and Rosemount Steeple Center were certified in CPR/AED this week, bringing additional safety and emergency preparedness to our facility users. Staff takes recertification training every two years to ensure all procedures are studied and followed.
