HomeMy WebLinkAbout3.a. 20211012 ESC Minutes ENVIRONMENT & SUSTAINABILITY COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING MINUTES OCTOBER 12, 2021 CALL TO ORDER Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the meeting of the Environment & Sustainability Commission (ESC) of the City of Rosemount was called to order on October 12, 2021, at 5:34 p.m. in the Conference Room, City Hall, 2875 145th Street West, Rosemount. Attendees included: Commission Chair Kim Ciresi, Vice-Chair Victoria Schlautman, and Commissioners Renee Burman, Taylor Sutton, Kristen Andrews and Tina Angerer. Commissioners Erin Delaney and Katie Koch-Laveen were absent. Staff present included the following; - City Engineer Erickson and Stormwater Specialist Byron ADDITIONS OR CORRECTIONS TO AGENDA APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion by Burman Second by Angerer Motion to approve the minutes of the September 21, 2021 Environment and Sustainability Commission meeting. Ayes: 6. Nays: 0. Motion carried. PRESENTATIONS NEW BUSINESS 5.a. 2022 Goal Setting Commissioners and staff discussed progress with 2021 goals and how they’ll be incorporated into the Commission’s 2022 goals. Commissioners agreed that they will keep board-based goals as they learn more about specific topics. As part of the 2022 goals, the Commission will be focusing on the Green Step Cities program to achieve Step 3 recognition. The City is currently at Step 2. Stormwater Specialist Byron announced that a new location has been decided on for the composting site. The site will be located behind City Hall by the RV dump station. Staff is working with the county of site screening for the dumpsters to be enclosed. OLD BUSINESS 6.a. Education & Outreach Calendar Commissioners discussed upcoming blog posts for October pumpkin recycling and candy wrapper disposal. November blog posts will consist of road salt reduction and energy conservation. 6.b. Partnership with Technology Task Force on Electric Vehicle Programs Item was briefly discussed during 5.a. 6.c. Pollinator Habitat Commissioner Delaney will provide update at the November meeting.
