REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
October 13, 2021
CALL TO ORDER
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the meeting of the Technology Task Force of the City of
Rosemount was called to order on October 13, 2021 at 6:46 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers.
Attendees included Task Force Members: Mohammad Khan, and Steve Thoennes
Task Members not in attendance: Joe Duffy, Robert Kidwell, Furhath Arnob, Tony Hall, and
Samuel Mwangi
Staff present included the following;
• GIS Coordinator Aaron Menza
• City Administrator Logan Martin
City Council present included the following;
• Councilmember Jeff Weisensel
• Mayor William Droste

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Motion by Thoennes Second by Khan
Motion to approve the minutes of the September 8, 2021 Technology Task Force meeting.

OLD BUSINESS
4.a Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
The taskforce reviewed a business case for encouraging the construction of electric vehicle charging
station and discussed numerous options for incentivizing developers, business owners, and residents
to build charging stations. It was determined that the business case should be shared with the
Environment and Sustainability Commission so the two committees can begin discussions on a joint
recommendation to City Council.

NEW BUSINESS
5.a Technology Task Force Project Prioritization
The Technology Task Force reviewed the taskforce’s project list and discussed which projects
should be considered for implementation next. Some ideas included a web security review, Net
Promoter Scores, Artificial Intelligence Machine Learning, an overall/comprehensive plan for future
technologies in the City, and a SMART City implementation program. Taskforce members decided
they would like to learn more about a SMART City implementation program and asked staff to have
a SMART City consultant available for a future meeting.
