HomeMy WebLinkAbout20210726 UC MinutesUTILITY COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING MINUTES July 26, 2021 CALL TO ORDER Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the regular Utility Commission meeting of the City of Rosemount was called to order on July 26, 2021, at 5:30 p.m. in the Conference Room, City Hall, 2875 145th Street West, Rosemount. Meeting was called to order with Commissioners Rome and Johnson, Mayor Droste, City Administrator Martin and Public Works Director/City Engineer Erickson. Commissioner Demuth was absent. Guest in attendance included Brian Davis, Water Supply Planning Senior Engineer, with the Met Council. ADDITIONS OR CORRECTIONS TO AGENDA None AUDIENCE INPUT None APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion by Johnson Second by Rome Motion to approve the minutes of the June 28, 2021 Utility Commission meeting. Ayes: 2. Nays: 0. Motion carried. PUBLIC HEARINGS None OLD BUSINESS 6.a. Water/Stormwater Rebate Update Public Works Director/City Engineer Erickson provided an update on the 2nd quarter of the 2021 rebate activity. NEW BUSINESS 7.a. Met Council Water Efficiency Tool Public Works Director/City Engineer Erickson introduced Brian Davis with the Met Council. Mr. Davis presented to the commissioners and staff about their water efficiency tool. 7.b. Lead Service Line Policy Public Works Director/City Engineer Erickson briefly discussed with commissioner research that has been completed towards putting together a lead service line policy. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S REPORT 8.a. City Project Update Public Works Director/City Engineer Erickson provided the Commission with a memo regarding ongoing projects and highlighted various projects. 8.b. Well Pumping Report Public Works Director/City Engineer Erickson presented the current well pumping records. 8.c. Action Item / Issues List i.MET Council Well Assessment See item 7.a. ii.Smart Meter Update Staff met with vendor representatives for the replacement of water meters. Staff is working with the Finance Department to coordinate a potential change with the current utility billing software. iv.Tour of a Water Tower Due to restrictions lifting, staff is open to coordinating an in-person water tower tour. vi.Water/Stormwater Rebate Update (quarterly) See item 6.a. 8.d.
