RECOMMENDED ACTION: Recognizing New Firefighters Coming off Probation
BACKGROUND
The Fire Department would like to have the City Council recognize Firefighters Joseph Craft and Jerome
Newton who have completed their probationary status on November 20, 2021. They have satisfied all
training requirements that included Emergency Medical Responder training, Firefighter I / Firefighter II
training as well as Hazmat Operational Level training.
They both have represented the Fire Department with a high level of professionalism and integrity the
past two years and have full support of the department to be promoted to regular status. These and all
others recently off probation will attend a future meeting for formal recognition.
RECOMMENDATION
The Fire Department is requesting City Council to recognize Firefighters Joseph Craft and Jerome
Newton for completing all requirements of probation and to assume the regular duties of their
counterparts effective retroactive November 20, 2021.
