ATTACHMENTS: None APPROVED BY: LJM RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to declare the item listed in the executive summary as surplus property and for staff to try to appropriately recycle, sell or dispose of the item. BACKGROUND The Parks and Recreation Department is asking that the City Council consider declaring the skate sharpener at the Rosemount Arena as surplus property. The equipment was purchased in 2014 is set to be replaced in the 2022. The current machine has a market value of approximately $2,000 and staff hope to sell the unit to a used equipment broker. A new skate sharpener will cost approximately $4,800 for a double sharpener that allows both skates to be sharpened at the same time. The new model of sharpener also only requires a couple of minutes of training before use, thus allowing all staff to sharpen skates. By declaring this item as surplus property, it will authorize staff to appropriately recycle, sell or dispose of the equipment. The item listed below are will soon no longer be used within the City’s operations. Skate Sharpener Fixed Asset Tag #002441 RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends the City Council declare the aforementioned item as surplus property and for staff to appropriately recycle, sell, or dispose of the item.
