Amendment to the 2022 Fee and Fees Policy – Parks and Recreation EXECUTIVE SUMMARY City Council Regular Meeting: January 31, 2022 AGENDA ITEM: Amendment to the 2022 Fee and Fees Policy – Parks and Recreation AGENDA SECTION: Consent PREPARED BY: Dan Schultz, Parks & Recreation Director AGENDA NO. 6.k. ATTACHMENTS: Resolution and Proposed Rate Changes APPROVED BY: LJM RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve a resolution to amend the 2022 Fees and Fee Policy to change rates for the Steeple Center BACKGROUND The Parks and Recreation Department is requesting the City Council to consider making what staff hopes is the final amendment to the 2022 Fees and Fee Policy to allow for some rate changes and language updates to the fees for the Steeple Center portion of the policy. The Steeple Center fees were inadvertently left out of the Council packet when the amendment to the fees were approved on January 18, 2022. After reviewing the recent changes to the fees policy, staff from the Parks and Recreation Department identified additional changes that should be made. Attached are the proposed updates that staff are requesting the City Council to consider. The Steeple Center is a popular space for groups of up to 190 people looking to host an event. The current use rate for the Assembly Hall on Saturdays is above 80%. The facility also has regular users every Sunday and the Senior Adult programs and RAAC members can be found in the building on a regular basis. RECOMMENDATION Staff is recommending the City approve a resolution to amend the 2022 Fees and Fee Policy to change various rates for the Steeple Center. 7 II.The Rosemount Steeple Center Fees 2022 Rental Rates All rentals are tax exempt Monday-Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday Assembly Hall 6-Hour Rental Block 9:00am – 3:00pm OR 5:00pm – 11:00pm Full Day Rental 9:00am-11:00pm Assembly Hall Full Day Rental 9:00am-11:00pm Assembly Hall Available Hours 2:00pm – 9:00pm* *Minimum 5-Hr Rental ASSEMBLY HALL (2,520 sq. ft., 36’x70’) (Stage: 23’-38’ wide, up to 28’ deep) Theater Seating Capacity: 204 Capacity With Tables/Chairs: 192 3-Hour Min.
