BACKGROUND
The Technology Task Force was created in early 2021 to help guide the City explore technology options
that could help the city operate more efficiently and better serve residents. This has included reviewing
options for technology infrastructure upgrades, ensuring the City’s network is properly secured,
recommending internal/staff workflows, and more.
As electric vehicles (EV) become more prevalent in the region, the demand for EV charging stations in
Rosemount will continue to grow. The task force has been discussing this need and strategies for
addressing the expected increase in demand. Much of this discussion has been focused on incentivizing
the construction of EV charging stations in new construction of homes, apartment buildings, and
commercial developments.
The task force will present a proposal regarding incentivizing EV charging stations in Rosemount and will
be available for further discussion.
RECOMMENDATION
Discussion of the Technology Task Force’s EV charging station proposal and next steps.
