RECOMMENDED ACTION: To be discussed at the meeting.
ISSUE
Over the past year, the Parks and Recreation department staff have been reviewing the city ordinances
relating to park rules and we have noticed some items that are out of date or vary quite a bit from best
practices that are taking place in other local communities. Some of the main areas that staff feel need to be
discussed include:
Parking in Erickson Park
Use of drones
Park Parks hours
Alcohol possession and use in City Parks
Removal, cutting or otherwise defacing or altering any tree or ground cover
Included in the packet are the current City Codes for the Commission to review. Staff will have a few
proposed changes at the meeting on Monday to discuss.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff will share some recommended changes to the City Code at the meeting on Monday and provide
some assistance with developing a recommendation.
