Hot Chocolate Day - We celebrated National Hot Chocolate Day at the Steeple Center on Monday,
January 31st. We served over 40 cups of hot chocolate with a variety of fun toppings to our
seniors. Everyone really appreciated this warm treat on a cold day and enjoyed picking out their
toppings. We are looking forward to making this an annual event!
Hollywood Glam Event - The Parks and Recreation Department hosted the annual adult/child dance
event “Hollywood Glam, a Night at the Movies” this past Friday. 105 couples (216 people) enjoyed a
Hollywood movie-themed event filled with dancing, music, fun activities, crafts, snacks and two special
visitors. Marilyn Monroe and Judy Garland made an appearance and led fun games and dances. We
received many positive comments about this event and the valuable time the couples spent together. The
date for next year’s event is booked and we look forward to offering it again in 2023.
Spring and Summer Activities - The Spring/Summer Parks and Recreation brochure will be mailed to
residents the week of March 7. The cover photo represents our new nature programming with EcoElsa
beginning in April at Schwarz Pond Park. Spring highlights include: The Lions Club Spring Egg Hunt,
City-Wide Garage Sale, Arbor Day and City Clean-Up Day. Popular Summer programs include: Pre
School Sports, Kids Corner, Waterpark Camp, Kids Favorite Field Trips Camp, Nerf Wars and Safety
Camp. Learn to Skate, Leprechaun Days programming and Older Adult Trips and Special Events are also
included in this publication. Online and in-person registrations for all spring/summer programs will begin
at 8am on Monday, March 7.
