PARKS & RECRE ATION COMMISSION
April 5, 2021
Special Meeting
Members Present: James Bonkoski, Barb Farrell, Michael Eliason, David Speich,
Emily Grossman, John DeBettignies, and Scott McDonald
Members Absent: Andrea Schapp and Jim Young
Staff Present: Dan Schultz, Director of Parks and Recreation
Michelle Rambo, Recording Secretary
Others Present: Bill Droste, Paul Essler, Heidi Freske and Logan Martin
1. CALL TO ORDER: Farrell called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m.
a. Oath of Office – Emily Grossman
2. DISCUSSION
a. Update on Projects (verbal) Director Schultz gave updates on the following projects:
*Carroll’s Woods Master Plan – Goats and low-level burns will be utilized to help control the
buckthorn in Carroll’s Woods.
*UMore Ballfields Phase II – Installation the week of May 3rd. Fiber to the site and will have
security cameras out there.
*Rec Center Facility – Potential private partnership for a facility at Akron & County Rd 42
3. ADJOURNMENT - MOTION by DeBettignies to adjourn the meeting. SECOND by McDonald.
Ayes: 7 Nays: 0 Motion passed. The meeting was adjourned at 7:33 p.m.
