HomeMy WebLinkAbout20210714 Minutes TECHNOLOGY TASK FORCE REGULAR MEETING MINUTES July 14, 2021 CALL TO ORDER Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the meeting of the Technology Task Force of the City of Rosemount was called to order on July 14, 2021 at 6:46 p.m., City Hall. Attendees included Task Force Members: Mohammad Khan, Furhath Arnob, Steve Thoennes, Samuel Mwangi, and Robert Kidwell Members not attending: Tony Hall and Joe Duffy Staff present included the following; • GIS Coordinator Aaron Menza • City Administrator Logan Martin City Council present included the following; • Councilmember Heidi Freske • Councilmember Jeff Weisensel ADDITIONS OR CORRECTIONS TO AGENDA Thoennes asked to add a discussion about security (This was tabled until the next meeting) APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion by Arnob Second by Mwangi Motion to approve the minutes of the May 12, 2021 Technology Task Force meeting Ayes: 5. Nays: 0. Motion carried. PRESENTATIONS None OLD BUSINESS 4.a Project Sub-Committee Update City Administrator Martin gave an update about current irrigation in parks. The current irrigation systems are Rain Bird and the system monitors evaporation rates. GIS Coordinator Aaron Menza updated the commission on the EV Menza gave update on EV Charging Station Grant that the City did not receive. Mr. Menza noted a webinar about funding options, policies for cities available tomorrow, July 15th. Also discussed regarding the charging stations; policy/ordinance updates for high density developments, public areas requiring EV charging stations. TECHNOLOGY TASK FORCE REGULAR MEETING MINUTES July 14, 2021 Staff and members will continue to watch for grant opportunities and do additional research on the cost, what other communities are implementing and any future trends. NEW BUSINES S 5.a GIS/Citizen Problem Reporter Menza gave a presentation about what GIS is and how the city utilizes it. Menza demonstrated several map applications that are used internally by staff as well publicly available maps. Menza also demonstrated a new Citizen Problem Reported App. Menza will continue to work on the app and will make it available to the taskforce to begin testing it. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the taskforce at the regular Technology Taskforce meeting and upon a motion by Thoennes, second by Kidwell the meeting unanimously was adjourned at 8:32 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Aaron Menza GIS Coordinator
