ATTACHMENTS: Press Release, Award APPROVED BY: LJM RECOMMENDED ACTION: Acknowledge the Award Earned by the City and Finance Staff SUMMARY The City of Rosemount has received the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the 2020 Annual Comprehensive Finance Report (ACFR). The GFOA’s Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment for the City and staff. th This is the 25 consecutive year that City has received this prestigious national award. In order to receive this award, the government entity needs to publish an easily readable and efficiently organized annual comprehensive financial report and satisfy both generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and applicable legal requirements. The Certificate of Achievement is valid for one year. Thank you to the Finance staff for their continuous hard work in achieving this honor. The report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) advances excellence in government finance by providing best practices, professional development, resources, and practical research for more than 21,000 members and the communities they serve.
