Minutes of the January 27. 2022 Goal Setting Special Work Session Proceedings ROSEMOUNT CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL WORK SESSION PROCEEDINGS JANUARY 27, 2022 CALL TO ORDER Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a special work session of the Rosemount City Council was held on Thursday, January 27, at 3:00 pm at the Rosemount Steeple Center, 14375 S Robert Trail, Rosemount. Mayor Droste called the meeting to order with Councilmember Weisensel, Freske, Block and Essler. Staff present included, City Administrator Martin, Chief of Police Dahlstrom, Assistant City Administrator Foster, Community Development Director Kienberger, Public Works Director Egger, Fire Chief Rick Schroeder (arrived at 5pm) Parks & Recreation Director Schultz, Finance Director Malecha and Communications Coordinator Stoffel. 2.a. Goal Setting City Council and staff discussed the current Strategic Plan and the group reviewed the progress made in 2021. Significant progress was made on many fronts, with a number of goals being completed throughout 2020-2021. The group discussed the rapid pace of development and changes within the organization, and the need to balance new items being added to the goals for 2022. The group discussed the specific tasks needed to be accomplished for each goal area. The staff “owner” of each task was assigned, and a timetable for deliverables was established. The Council and staff agreed that the pre-existing Strategic Plan is sound and reflects the needs of the community going forward. As such, the overall categories pursued include:  Growing Rosemount  Connecting & Engaging the Community  Enhancing Quality of Life  Developing a High Performing Organization Staff will continue to present progress on the goals at quarterly intervals during City Council work sessions. The City Council conveyed their appreciation to the staff for solid work occurred in 2021 and the group agreed that the future is bright for the City of Rosemount. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the City Council and upon a motion by Droste, second by Essler, the meeting was unanimously adjourned at 7:48pm Respectfully Submitted, Logan Martin City Administrator
