Park Improvement Fund Balance as of February 28, 2022: $3,502,094.37 Inflows to the Park Improvement Fund last month were as follows: Dedication fees – $0 Grants/Other - $0 Interest - $249.70 Donations - $0 Expenditures – $4,730.69 Selection of the Chair and Vice Chair – At our meeting next month, we will be choosing our 2022 Chair and Vice chair positions for the Commission. Staff will be providing an overview of the process for selecting the two positions or what their duties consist of. Public Events/Volunteer Opportunities for Commission Members - The Parks and Recreation department has several public volunteer/opportunities for Commission members coming up in the next few months. The Spring Egg Hunt is at the Ames Soccer complex and will take place the morning of Saturday, April 9th. Rosemount's 30th Annual Arbor Day celebration and tree giveaway will be at 10:00 AM on April 30th at the Rosemont Public Works Facility on Brazil Ave. There will also be additional opportunities to interact with the public during Leprechaun Days. Staff will update the Commission on these items in the near future. Ice Hockey - The Rosemount Ice Arena and Rosemount Area Hockey Association hosted the Minnesota Hockey Bantam AA East Regionals on Friday, March 4th - Sunday, March 6th. The top 2 teams from this tournament will move on to the Bantam AA State Tournament. Story Trail - The Robert Trail Library and Rosemount Parks and Recreation are once again teaming up to offer a Story Walk through Central Park during Spring Break. Take a self-guided walk in the park on Thursday, March 24-Sunday, March 27 while reading pages from the children's book Moo! By David LaRochelle.
