RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to recommend the City Council accept the bids and
award the contract to the lowest bidder, Minnesota Dirt Works, for the Bella Vista Greenway
Trail Project.
BACKGROUND
The City recently received bids for the Bella Vista Greenway Trail project. There are six contractors who
provided bids to the City for the project (see spreadsheet below). The lowest bid was submitted by
Minnesota Dirt Works in the amount of $335,069.75. The engineers estimate for the construction was
$489,828.

The City entered into a Joint Powers Agreement with Dakota County to have the City build the greenway
trail and for the County to reimburse the City for the full cost of the trail.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff is recommending the City Council accept the bids and award the contract to the lowest bidder,
Minnesota Dirt Works, for the Bella Vista Greenway Trail Project.
