ATTACHMENTS: Bird Transportation Program APPROVED BY: LJM RECOMMENDED ACTION: Discussion Item Only BACKGROUND City staff recently heard a presentation from Bird, a micromobility scooter sharing company, regarding an opportunity for the company to expand its operations to Rosemount at no-cost to the city. Bird provides electric scooters to customers for a fee with a mission to solve the “last mile challenge” by connecting residents to regional transit options, reduce traffic congestion, improve air quality, and improve the quality of life of residents. A representative from Bird will be in attendance to present their proposal and answer any questions from the task force. RECOMMENDATION Discussion Item Only 2 0 2 1 What is Bird? Vehicles will slow down or stop, and riders are notified by a vehicle sound and an in-app notification.
