ROSEMOUNT YOUTH COMMISSION
REGULAR MEETING PROCEEDINGS
May 29, 2019
1. CALL TO ORDER
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Rosemount Youth Commission was
held on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 4:20 p.m. at the Steeple Center, 14375 South Robert Trail,
Rosemount following the Legacy Tree Planting at Twin Puddles Park.
Commissioner Chair M. Armstrong called the meeting to order with current Youth Commissioners
Bharath, Liggett, Moisei, Nozal, Radosevich and Whebbe and new Commissioners R. Armstrong,
Bauman, Chumbley, Gallagher, Henkemeyer, Kenninger, Laurent, Leholm and Ramesh were present.
City Administrator Logan Martin, Assistant City Administrator Emmy Foster, Recording Secretary
Sandi Amundson, Council Member Jeff Weisensel and Former Council Member Kim Shoe-Corrigan
were also present. Commissioner Abraham was absent.
2. ADDITIONS OR CORRECTIONS TO AGENDA
None
Motion by Armstrong. Second by Radosevich.
Motion to Adopt the Agenda.
Ayes: 16
Nays: 0. Absent: 1. Motion carried.
3. AUDIENCE INPUT
None
4. CONSENT AGENDA
Motion by Armstrong. Second by Liggett.
Motion to approve the Consent Agenda.
Ayes: 16
Nays: 0. Absent: 1. Motion carried.
5. OLD BUSINESS
6. NEW BUSINESS
a. Introductions
The attendees all introduced themselves to the group.
b. Review of By-Laws
Foster and Weisensel welcomed the new commissioners to the Youth Commission and briefly
reviewed the by-laws.
c. Election of Officers
Voting occurred for each position and the following Youth Commissioners were elected:
i. Chairperson – Aashish Bharath
ii. First Vice Chair – Ryan Armstrong
iii. Second Vice Chair – Kate Nozal
d. Discussion of Upcoming Events
Splash Pad Event – July 18, 2019 at 11:00 am. Several activities are planned including
painting Kindness Rocks, and giving out freeze pops and other fun items. This event will
follow one of the Music in the Parks event that same morning. Both outgoing and
incoming members are invited to participate in this.
Youth Commissioners are invited to help in the City Council booth on Friday night (July
26) and Saturday afternoon/night (July 27). Commissioners are also invited to walk in the
parade with the City Council on July 27. Foster will send out information on this as the
dates get closer.

Youth Commissioners are also invited to participate in Night to Unite on August 6 at 6:00
pm. The group typically meets in the Police Department parking lot between 5:30-5:45 pm
that evening. Foster will send out information on this event as well.
e. Calendar of Meeting Dates
A calendar of meeting dates was distributed to the group. Meetings are typically held at the

Steeple Center on the 4 Wednesday of each month. Sometimes the dates are changed up due
to school breaks, holidays, etc. There is no regular meeting in July due to the other planned
summer activities. Meeting information is emailed to the group on a monthly basis.
f. Words of Wisdom from Outgoing Members
The outgoing Youth Commissioners shared words of wisdom, favorite activities and tours, and
general observances with the new Commissioners.
g. Roundtable Discussion
Everyone took a turn and shared their current and upcoming activities with the group. Topics
included graduation, school activities, college decisions and summer plans.
7. REPORTS
a. Commission Member Reports
None
b. Next Meeting Date - The next meeting of the Youth Commission is scheduled for
Wednesday, June 26 2019 at 3:45 p.m. at the Steeple Center, 14375 South Robert Trail,
Room 202, Rosemount. *There will not be a regular Youth Commission meeting in July.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to discuss, it was moved by Armstrong and seconded by Bharath that
the meeting be adjourned. The motion carried unanimously and the meeting was adjourned at 5:09 p.m.
