ROSEMOUNT YOUTH COMMISSION
REGULAR MEETING PROCEEDINGS
October 23, 2019
1. CALL TO ORDER
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Rosemount Youth Commission was
held on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at 3:45 p.m. at the Steeple Center, 14375 South Robert Trail,
Rosemount.
Commissioner Chair Bharath called the meeting to order with Youth Commissioners Armstrong,
Bauman, Chumbley, Gallagher, Henkemeyer, Kenninger, Laurent and Nozal, and Ramesh were
present. Council Member Jeff Weisensel, former Council Member Kim Shoe-Corrigan, Erin
Fasbender/City Clerk, and Recording Secretary Sandi Amundson were also present. Assistant City
Administrator Emmy Foster and Commissioner Leholm were absent.
2. ADDITIONS OR CORRECTIONS TO AGENDA
None
Motion by Bharath. Second by Armstrong.
Motion to Adopt the Agenda.
Ayes: 10
Nays: 0. Absent: 1. Motion carried.

4. CONSENT AGENDA
Motion by Bharath. Second by Nozal
Motion to approve the Consent Agenda.
Ayes: 10
Nays: 0. Absent: 1. Motion carried.
5. OLD BUSINESS
None
6. NEW BUSINESS
a. City Clerk Erin Fasbender – Student Judge & Election Information: Fasbender
discussed the upcoming election and explained the opportunities available to students
to assist with the election process. Anyone with questions or interest in serving as an
Election Judge should contact her at erin.fasbender@ci.rosemount.mn.us
b. Goal Setting, Part 2: The Commissioners broke up into groups to discuss previous
goals and activities. They documented and shared their ideas.
c. Recap of Paint-A-Plow Event & Recent Ribbon Cuttings: The plow painting was a
success. The children liked putting their handprints and names on the plow blades.
The group agreed that they would like to do another event like this in the future.
Commissioners who have attended the ribbon cuttings shared their experience and
remind the others that they should attend future events.
d. Roundtable Discussion: The Youth Commissioners shared their current and
upcoming activities with the group. Topics included school events, college visits,
sports, and band activities.
7. REPORTS
a. Commission Member Reports
None
b. Next Meeting Date – Next Meeting Date will be a tour of the State Capitol with
Representative John Huot (75 Rev Dr Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, St. Paul) on November 20,

2019. Meet at City Hall Main Lobby (2875 145 St W, Rosemount) at 3 p.m. to travel to St.
Paul.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to discuss, it was moved by Bharath and seconded by Henkemeyer
that the meeting be adjourned. The motion carried unanimously, and the meeting was adjourned at
5:22 p.m.
