CALL TO ORDER Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Rosemount Youth Commission was held on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 3:47 p.m. at the Steeple Center, 14375 South Robert Trail, Rosemount. Commissioner Chair Bharath called the meeting to order with Youth Commissioners Armstrong, Chumbley, Gallagher, Henkemeyer, Kenninger, Leholm and Nozal present. Assistant City Administrator Emmy Foster, Council Member Jeff Weisensel, Director of Parks and Recreation Dan Schultz, and Recording Secretary Anne Hayes were also present. Commissioners Bauman, Laurent and Ramesh were absent. 2. ADDITIONS OR CORRECTIONS TO AGENDA None Motion by Bharath. Second by Armstrong. Motion to Adopt the Agenda. Ayes: 8 Nays: 0. Absent: 3. Motion carried. 3. AUDIENCE INPUT None 4. CONSENT AGENDA Motion by Bharath. Second by Armstrong. Motion to approve the Consent Agenda. Ayes: 8 Nays: 0. Absent: 3. Motion carried. 5. OLD BUSINESS None 6. NEW BUSINESS a. Parks & Recreation Director Dan Schultz – Director Schultz briefed Youth Commission on upcoming events the Commission will sponsor/ participate in. Commissioners shared their ideas and gathered input from Schultz. Discussion around events ensued including:  May Legacy Tree Planting - ideas were shared including that a video could be made and shared to highlight the tree planting as well as inviting residents to bring hammocks to Rosemount Parks.  The July Splash Pad Event at Central Park - could include an expansion of the Kindness Rocks Garden.  A possible Movie Night for Teens at Central Park – incorporated with an existing event planned through the Parks & Recreation Department.  Snow Plow Blade Art – can explored additional opportunities for painting the City snowplow blades at various events. b. Roundtable Discussion: The Youth Commissioners shared their current and upcoming activities with the group. Topics included jobs, sports, classes, trips, school clubs and upcoming construction in Rosemount. 7. REPORTS a. Commission Member Reports  Commissioners were encouraged to continue to try to recruit new members for the Youth Commission for the next year.  A list of upcoming important meeting dates was distributed to the Commissioners. b. Next Meeting Date – Next meeting date will be February 26, 2020 at 3:45 p.m. at the Steeple Center, Room 202, 14375 South Robert Trail. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to discuss, it was moved by Bharath and seconded by Kenninger that the meeting be adjourned.
