ROSEMOUNT YOUTH COMMISSION
REGULAR MEETING PROCEEDINGS
June 23, 2021
1. CALL TO ORDER
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Rosemount Youth Commission was
held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 3:45 p.m. at the Steeple Center, Room 202, 14375 South Robert
Trail.
Chairperson Kenninger called the meeting to order with Youth Commissioners Alex, Bartz, Buck,
Jacobson, Kuseske, Lovin, Maskel, Meyers, Mohanty, Pemberton, Reed, Rhoades, State, and Thomas
were present. Assistant City Administrator Emmy Foster, Council Member Jeff Weisensel, and
Recording Secretary Sandi Amundson were also present. Commissioners Burman, Iverson,
Thiagarajan and former Councilmember Kim Shoe-Corrigan were absent.
2. ADDITIONS OR CORRECTIONS TO AGENDA
None
Motion by Kenninger. Second by Maskel
Motion to Adopt the Agenda.

4. CONSENT AGENDA
Motion by Kenninger. Second by Maskel.
Motion to approve the Consent Agenda.
Ayes: 15

5. OLD BUSINESS

6. NEW BUSINESS
a. Volunteer Engagement Manager Diane Erickson
Erickson introduced herself and discussed her role in the City.
Erickson encouraged Commissioners to take advantage of Volunteer opportunities.
Most of the opportunities are outside activities or events.
o Adopt Programs
o Bluebird Nest Boxes (April – August) endangered species.
o Garden – seasonal staff
o Events – Leprechaun Days, Art Center, Halloween Haunted Woods Trail.
b. Splash Pad Summer Celebration – Thursday, July 15 from 11 a.m. - noon
Foster reminded the group of the Splash Pad Celebration as well as the upcoming

Leprechaun Days opportunities – the City Council Booth on July 23 & 24 and the

Parade on July 23. Also, Night to Unite on Tuesday, August 3. Watch for
information sent via email on these events.
c. Roundtable Discussion
Youth Commission members shared their activities including work, summer plans,
and sports.
Weisensel asked the Commissioners to write a paragraph on “what you think
leadership means to you” and submit that via email.
Weisensel stated that the group will be discussing goals in August and have a
brainstorming session. He encouraged the members to bring ideas to that meeting.

a. Commission Member Reports
None
b. Next Meeting Date – Next meeting date will be August 25, 2021 at 3:45 p.m. at the Steeple
Center, Room 202, 14375 South Robert Trail.
Tour of the Water Tower will take place at 3 p.m. before the meeting.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to discuss, it was moved by Kenninger and seconded by Buck that
the meeting be adjourned. The motion carried unanimously, and the meeting was adjourned at 4:32
p.m.
