CALL TO ORDER Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Rosemount Youth Commission was held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 3:49 p.m. at the Steeple Center, Room 202, 14375 South Robert Trail. Chairperson Kenninger called the meeting to order with Youth Commissioners Alex, Buck, Burman, Jacobson, Kuseske, Lovin, Maskel, Mohanty, Pemberton, Reed, Rhoades, State, Thiagarajan, and Thomas were present. Assistant City Administrator Emmy Foster and Council Member Jeff Weisensel were also present. Commissioners Bartz and Meyers were absent. 2. ADDITIONS OR CORRECTIONS TO AGENDA Motion to approve the agenda with item 6.a switched with 5.a for order of business Motion by Kenninger. Second by Reed. Motion to Adopt the Agenda. Ayes: 15 Nays: 0 Absent: 2. Motion carried. 3. AUDIENCE INPUT None 4. CONSENT AGENDA Motion by Kenninger. Second by Maskel. Motion to approve the Consent Agenda. Ayes: 15 Nays: 0 Absent: 2. Motion carried. 5. OLD BUSINESS a. Goals Discussion Following Mr. Schultz’s presentation, the group discussed events, partnerships, recommendations and priorities of goals. 6. NEW BUSINESS a. Parks & Recreation Director Dan Schultz Schultz shared the Parks & Recreation brochure with the group and introduced himself. He shared his job duties, background, and his most recent work plan. He discussed items including a potential new rec facility, Carroll’s Woods project, Skate Park, Flint Hills and UMore Fields, Food Truck Fest, YC Tree Planting, Volunteer Network, new playgrounds and trails, dog park/run, special events, bandshell improvements, new software, batting cage, and long-term park plans. b. Leadership Lesson Topic of the Month: Parliamentary Procedure Weisensel discussed the exercise with the group and also reminded the Commissioners to send in their worksheets. c. Roundtable Discussion Youth Commission members shared their activities including school/homework, trips, college visits, band, and sports. 7. REPORTS a. Commission Member Reports None b. Next Meeting Date Next meeting date will be October 27, 2021 at 3:45 p.m. at Fire Station 1 at 14700 Shannon Parkway. Tour of the Station will be at 3 p.m. before the meeting. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to discuss, it was moved by Kenninger and seconded by Thiagarajan that the meeting be adjourned.
