ROSEMOUNT YOUTH COMMISSION
REGULAR MEETING PROCEEDINGS
November 17, 2021
1. CALL TO ORDER
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Rosemount Youth Commission was held on
Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 3:46 p.m. in Room 221 of the Community Center, 13885 South Robert
Trail.
Chairperson Kenninger called the meeting to order with Youth Commissioners Alex, Burman, Jacobson,
Kuseske, Meyers, Reed, State, Thiagarajan, and Thomas were present. Assistant City Administrator Emmy
Foster and Council Member Jeff Weisensel were also present. Commissioners Bartz, Buck, Lovin, Maskel,
Mohanty, Pemberton and Rhoades were absent.
Parks and Recreation Director Dan Schultz provided a tour of the Community Center and Ice Arena before
the start of the meeting.
2. ADDITIONS OR CORRECTIONS TO AGENDA
Motion by Kenninger. Second by Alex.
Motion to Adopt the Agenda.
Ayes: 10
Nays: 0 Absent: 7. Motion carried.
3. AUDIENCE INPUT
None
4. CONSENT AGENDA
Motion by Kenninger. Second by Reed.
Motion to approve the Consent Agenda.
Ayes: 10
Nays: 0 Absent: 7. Motion carried.
5. OLD BUSINESS
None
6. NEW BUSINESS
a. Finalized Goals
The group discussed the rough draft of goals and finalized their priorities. These goals were adopted
and will be included on the Youth Commission webpage.
Motion by Kenninger. Second by State.
Motion to approve the 2022-2023 Youth Commission Goals as Amended and Finalized
Ayes: 10
Nays: 0 Absent: 7. Motion carried.
b. Leadership Lesson
Topic of the Month: What is Power?
Weisensel asked that the Youth Commissioners to discuss and submit their leadership sheet on “What
is Power?”
c. Roundtable Discussion
Youth Commission members shared their activities and plans including holiday plans, schoolwork,
jobs, upcoming trips, sports, OnStage and band.

Youth Commissioners were reminded of the Annual Tree Lighting event on November 20.
7. REPORTS
a. Commission Member Reports
A subcommittee was created to begin planning for a Spring Event with Seniors in the Community. It
will be led by Vice Chair Thiagarajan. Other members interested in helping with this include
Commissioners Alex, Jacobson, Reed and Thomas.
b. Next Meeting Date
The next meeting date will be December 15, 2021 at 3:45 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall,

*A Tour of the Police Department is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. before the meeting.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to discuss, it was moved by Kenninger and seconded by Alex that the
meeting be adjourned. The motion carried unanimously, and the meeting was adjourned at 4:30 p.m.
