CALL TO ORDER Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Rosemount Youth Commission was held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 3:46 p.m. in Council Chambers of City Hall, 2875 145th St W. Chairperson Kenninger called the meeting to order with Youth Commissioners Alex, Bartz, Buck, Burman, Jacobson, Maskel, Meyers, Pemberton, Reed, Rhoades, State, Thiagarajan, and Thomas were present. Assistant City Administrator Emmy Foster, Council Member Jeff Weisensel, and Recording Secretary Sandi Amundson were also present. Commissioners Kuseske, Lovin, and Mohanty were absent. Sgt Grabow and Officer Rosel provided a tour of the Police Department at 3 p.m. before the start of the meeting. 2. ADDITIONS OR CORRECTIONS TO AGENDA Motion by Kenninger. Second by Maskel. Motion to Adopt the Agenda. Ayes: 14 Nays: 0 Absent: 3. Motion carried. 3. AUDIENCE INPUT None 4. CONSENT AGENDA Motion by Kenninger. Second by Buck. Motion to approve the Consent Agenda. Ayes: 14 Nays: 0 Absent: 3. Motion carried. 5. OLD BUSINESS None 6. NEW BUSINESS a. Police Department Overview The Youth Commissioners who were on the Police Department tour shared their experience and take-aways with the others who were not present for the tour. b. Leadership Lesson – Topic of the Month: What Stops Creativity? Weisensel asked that the Youth Commissioners to discuss and submit their leadership sheet on “What Stops Creativity?” c. Roundtable Discussion Youth Commission members shared their activities and plans including holiday plans, schoolwork, jobs, upcoming trips, sports, and band. 7. REPORTS a. Commission Member Reports Discussion continued regarding planning for the Spring Event with Seniors in the Community. This event is being led by Vice Chair Thiagarajan. Other members interested in helping with this event should let Thiagarajan know. b. Next Meeting Date a. The next meeting date will be January 26 at 3:45 p.m. at the Family Resource Center, 14521 Cimarron Ave. W. b. Tour of the Family Resource Center at 3 p.m. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to discuss, it was moved by Kenninger and seconded by Pemberton that the meeting be adjourned.
